Fast & Furious Returns to Cannes With Emotional 25th Anniversary Reunion

The engines roared back to life on the Croisette as the cast of The Fast and the Furious reunited at the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival for a special 25th anniversary celebration and midnight screening of the iconic film franchise.
Leading the celebration was Vin Diesel, joined by original cast members Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster, alongside Meadow Walker, whose presence brought an emotional dimension to the evening in tribute to her late father, Paul Walker.

The special screening marked a milestone moment for one of cinema’s most successful action franchises, which has generated more than $7 billion worldwide since the release of the original film in 2001. During the event, Diesel reflected on the legacy of the franchise and the deep sense of family that has become synonymous with the series.

The cast appeared at an official Cannes photocall earlier in the day before walking the famed red carpet steps of the Palais des Festivals for the midnight screening. Fans gathered across the Croisette to witness the reunion, which quickly became one of the festival’s most talked-about moments.

The celebration also hinted at the future of the franchise, with Diesel teasing the upcoming chapter, Fast Forever, currently scheduled for release in 2028.

Blending nostalgia, emotion, and blockbuster energy, the reunion proved that after 25 years, Fast & Furious remains a defining force in global pop culture — and at Cannes, family once again took center stage.
